Women’s MMA Bantamweight Rankings December 2020 Update: So far, the only thing that can stop Amanda Nunes is “personal reasons.” The Lioness had to withdraw from her scheduled featherweight championship match at UFC 256 on Dec. 12 with Megan Anderson and while we await her return, we ought to just admire her dominance. 11-straight wins, the third fighter in the history of the UFC to hold and defend two belts (along with Daniel Cormier and Henry Cejudo) and cleaning out basically two divisions. How much more will the GOAT continue to compete remains to be seen, however in 2021 our fingers are crossed for a 3rd fight with women’s flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko.

Dutch kickboxer and former champion Germaine de Randamie submitted Julianna Pena with a guillotine choke at UFC on ESPN 16. Like Chookagian in the flyweight division, de Randamie has found herself outclassed by the champ (twice) yet dominated everyone below her. Jackson-Wink protégé and well-respected veteran of the fight game, former champion herself Holly Holm put on a clinic against Irene Aldana at UFC on ESPN 16. At 39-years old, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for the fan favorite and future UFC Hall of Famer. Aldana herself was running through the division but her defeat to Holm has certainly delayed her shot at the title.
